“P-Per,” Sustainable concept of mobile phone

2008/02/29

Chocolate Design Agency announced their concept mobile device, “P-Per” last year. It contains lots of features in its slim 7mm body. We would like to introduce its design and sustainability.

The P-Per phone has a screen located on each of its two sides. Phone and mail functions are displayed on one side and a camera is displayed on the other. The surface of one side is a large screen that allows for panoramic views in camera mode and is suitable for video calls.

Another feature of the “P-Per” is its ecological construction. It consists of only four layers. Based on the rule of “one function–one part–one material,” each part of this device is easy to recycle. Some examples include the hypoallergenic and recyclable titanium parts or an Organic Radical battery that is free from heavy metals. Because of its innovative and sustainable design, the “P-Per” received the Red Dot Award Design Concept 2007.

The Marketing Executive of Chocolate Design Agency said that “P-Per” is still a concept device and there is no plan to launch the product. However, the technologies used in the “P-Per” will be available as soon as next year. Personally, this model is in no way inferior compared with the “iPhone”; besides, the “iPhone” is already available…anyway I love this device.
